The latest Superheroes to be remembered are Andrew De Moray and William Wallace, Co-Commanders at the Battle of Stirling Bridge on 11th September 1297. In recognition of their great victory at Stirling Brig, Andrew De Moray and William Wallace were appointed joint ‘Guardians of Scotland’. This is where the Guardians of Scotland Trust took their name. The Trust aims to erect a Memorial Sculpture to Wallace and De Moray at Stirling Bridge.

Sadly in the weeks following his appointment as Guardian, young Andrew De Moray died from the wounds sustained at Stirling Bridge. Andrew De Moray was the Senior Commander, and it is argued that his plan won the day at Stirling Bridge. There are over 20 Statues and Monuments to William Wallace around the world. Sadly, there isn’t a single monument to Andrew De Moray anywhere in the World. With your support, we can make this right and build a lasting memorial at Stirling Bridge to Andrew De Moray, William Wallace and all those who fought, died and survived at Stirling Brig.

Steven and Molly have donated £1,527 from T-shirt/hoodie sales and from Freedom tours at Stirling Bridge since 2020. Steven is proud to have been appointed a Trustee of the Guardians of Scotland Trust in 2022. He co-organises the annual Stirling Bridge Commemoration with Ted Christopher.

In 2016, renowned Sculptor, Malcolm Robertson’s ‘Brothers in Arms’ sculpture won the Guardians of Scotland Trust competition. Malcolm describes his winning design below:

“I felt the need to steer away from conflict with this design, even though it is based around a battle. It’s about building bridges and the common endeavour of the two men and the way they came together to get a job done.”
Malcolm Robertson - the leading public artist behind the winning design.
