Our North Rising design honours Andrew De Moray, Co-Commander at the Battle of Stirling Bridge alongside William Wallace on 11th September 1297. The design of this Iconic T-shirt & Hoodie shows Andrew De Moray raising his standard on Ormonde Hill, high above Avoch to start the ‘North Rising’ in May 1297. The lyrics on the back are: ‘The North Rising’ with the kind permission of our friend and great singer/songwriter, Ted Christopher.
There are approximately 20 memorials to William Wallace all around the World. Andrew De Moray was fatally wounded at the Battle of Stirling Bridge and died a few months later. Before he died, both he and William Wallace were appointed joint ‘Guardians of Scotland’. Andrew De Moray is Scotland’s forgotten hero from the period and a donation from your purchase today will support the Trust bearing their title, to build a lasting memorial at the site of their greatest victory. Thank you.
Donations from our North Rising design and our Freedom Tours at Stirling Bridge have seen £1,527 donated to the Guardians of Scotland Trust since 2020. The Trust aims to build a Memorial Sculpture to Andrew De Moray and William Wallace at the site of the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Steven became a Trustee in 2022 to further support the work of the Trust.
Purchase this iconic Hoodie to remember Andrew De Moray and the proud North Rising.
Thank you,
Steven
